Can I salvage a burnt caramel

Caramel sauce just like any other sauce is used as an

ingredient in desserts and sugary products. But it is only

used for sweet products not the salty ones in which tomato

sauce are used. Caramel sauce is made by heating different

variety of sugars. It is also used in pudding, desserts, cakes,

cookies, sweets and many other sugar related recipes. It is

also used in one of the most favorite recipe loved by everyone

and is widely consumed worldwide which is ice cream. The

caramel sauce is used as a topping in ice creams. As I have

mentioned above that caramel sauce is made from sugars so

it should be sweet in taste which it is but sometimes caramel

sauce becomes bitter due to some reason which I am going

to mention and answer in this blog post. So the reason and

solution of caramel sauce bitterness is given below:

Yes and no both are answers, no in a sense as you can’t

salvage or restore the burnt caramel as it was before and yes

in a sense as you can still use burnt caramel in recipes under

the condition that you have to enhance its taste before using

it in any recipe because a burnt caramel taste is a bitter taste.

So in order to restore the taste or to enhance burnt caramel

taste there are many methods. But here in this blog post I am

going to share my personal one which no other person has

shared before. This method is applied by using honey. Honey

as you know is very sweet and healthy so in order to enhance

burnt caramel taste you can add honey into it so that it can

brighten up the taste of the burnt caramel and that burnt

caramel will not remain bitter as it was before. So by using

this method you can salvage a burnt caramel.

How do you fix burnt caramel?

How do you fix burnt caramel

You can fix burnt caramel in a very easy and simple way. So

the solution which will solve the bitterness problem of the

burnt caramel is adding a little more sugar in the mixture

which is burning to stop it from catching fire and burning.

The second step you should take is to not stir the already

caramelized sugar as it will increase the risk of burning of

sugar and causing bitterness in the caramel sauce. Also don’t

cook or heat sugar faster as it also increases the chances of

burning of sugar and also increases the chances of

bitterness. If you follow these steps carefully then your

caramel sauce will not ever burn and also will not turn bitter.

What happens if caramel is overheated

When caramel is over heated it starts to burn and when it

Your caramel burns because of some mistakes that many

people make in making it. So there a couple of mistakes that

people do which causes caramel to burn. So the first mistake

Why is my caramel not thickening

So the main reason of why your caramel is not thickening is

because you have set your heating temperature too high.

Caramel only starts thickening on lower heat and when it

starts cooling. So set your heating temperature of caramel

at very low percentage and heat it for a few minutes and then

allow it to cool than you will see that your caramel will start

 thickening.

Can I reheat caramel that didn't set?

Can I reheat caramel that didn't set

Yes, you can reheat the caramel that didn’t set but there is

something to consider before you start reheating the caramel.

Well you have to first add very little water to the caramel that

didn’t set before reheating it as if you reheat it without adding

water than your caramel will be burnt and its taste will become

bitter. So in order to prevent that from happening we add

water before reheating the caramel that didn’t set.

How do you keep melted caramel from hardening?

How do you keep melted caramel from hardening

Well you avoid or prevent melted caramel from hardening by

simply adding natural acids. I prefer to use some lemon juice.

So before heating the sugar to prepare caramel add a little

lemon juice about 1 tablespoon and mix it well in sugar. Try to

use hands so that lemon juice is mixed properly with sugar

and then start the heating process until the sugar melts and

caramel is obtained. After that allow it to cool and you will see

 it not become hard.
